Hoosiers can’t afford to pay more for their electricity.

We’re already one of the most expensive states in the nation for energy costs, and Duke originally wanted us to pay almost $300 more each year.

The state’s energy watchdog said that not only should Duke’s nearly $400 million rate hike be denied, but the utility should actually cut rates by $130 million. Even though Indiana regulators approved a lower rate increase, you’ll still wind up paying an average of $15 more per month—$180 per year—unless an appeal is granted.
